Plunger travel becomes an angular impulse on the shallow rotating plate. Rolling friction, ball-to-ball collisions and the concave chalice rim determine whether a ball settles centrally before the plate stops.
The dome, three balls, central chalice, plunger and instruction panel retain the surviving arrangement. Historical reference: Alte Spielautomaten.
